QUEEN’S DAY

It takes place on April 30 every year in Amsterdam (Netherlands). Queen's Day is the largest festival in the Netherlands and is also one of the largest street festivals in the world. This is the queen's birthday anniversary. Since Queen Beatrix was crowned (1980), to pay homage to her mother, she still took April 30 (the birth of her mother - Queen Juliana-April 30, 1909) as Queen’s Day.

On this day, everywhere in the Netherlands, there are exciting activities, especially in the two major cities of Amsterdam and Hague, where the offices of government, parliaments and the Royal Dutch family are located. All the streets and alleys are filled with colorful flowers. All restaurants, shops, and other places are covered in orange - the official color of the Dutch royal family.

All vehicles will stop working on this day and everyone just walks. On the night of the Queen's Day, the streets of the Netherlands suddenly turned into self-made flea markets selling all kinds of goods and they did not have to pay taxes. The pubs will also open all night to welcome visitors.

KEUKENHOF FLOWER FESTIVAL

The festival is usually held from March 20 to May 18 every year at the famous Keukenhof flower garden in Lisse region, located on the outskirts of Amsterdam. Keukenhof garden is a huge flower garden with about 7 million flowers. It is estimated that about 700 thousand tourists from all over the world come to visit this flower garden every year.

Each year, the Keukenhof tulip festival offers a special theme with different programs. Tourists will have the opportunity to learn the myths about tulips that the natives are very proud of. DOMINO FESTIVAL

November is the time of the unique Dutch Domino festival, held for the first time in 1998 and held every year in Leeuwarden town. This is probably a special festival in the world. CHARLES DICKENS FESTIVAL

The Charles Dickens festival was held in Deventer city on the last Saturday and Sunday before Christmas. The festival was organized to recreate the life in the 19th century in the masterpieces of Charles Dickens (1812-1870) – a British realist writer. Coming to this exciting festival, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse into the very real, very ordinary atmosphere of Western countries in the 19th century with full details from costumes, makeup, and gestures of aristocratic couples.
