7 common mistakes that speed up the aging process
1. Too many worries
Stress can actually damage your mental, emotional and physical health. Stress generates two hormones that are harmful to the immune system: norepinephrine and cortisol. It also raises blood pressure and increases the risk of cognitive decline and cardiovascular diseases.
2. Not taking care of the skin regularly
A bad habit that speeds up the aging process is no skin care routine. Skin care does not only mean using various products, it also means you have to ensure the moisture needed by drinking about 8 glasses of water a day. A good skin care routine will stimulate the production of collagen and elastin to help slow the formation of wrinkles - the most obvious signs of aging.
3. Unhealthy eating habits
An unhealthy eating habit is not eating enough vegetables and fruits, eating processed foods with lots of antioxidants. This leads to wrinkles and increases the risk of various cancers. However, you can slow down the aging process by simply adding fruits and vegetables to your daily diet.
4. Skipping exercises
The lack of exercises not only causes obesity but also increases the risk of cardiovascular and renal diseases. Each day you should have at least 30 minutes working-out. Studies show that regular exercise not only prevents the aging process, but also increases your life span.
5. Lack of sleep
One of the most common misconceptions about lack of sleep is that it will only create dark circles under your eyes. In fact, if you do not get enough sleep, you will feel tired all day long, and you will also tend to eat more than usual. On average, a healthy adult should sleep about seven to eight hours each night to get enough energy to work for the next day.
6. Not using sunscreen
Very few people have the habit of using sunscreen to protect the skin against dangerous UVB rays. Many women rely on makeup to protect their skin from the sun, but using sunscreen helps to tighten pores, reduce freckles and wrinkles.
Smoking is a very unhealthy habit that will definitely accelerate the aging process. Smoking for a long time will turn your teeth yellow. It will ruin your skin and cause many wrinkles, and of course it also will increase the risk of cancer (especially oral cancer and lung cancer) as well as heart diseases.
