World culinary critics have gathered in Spain to name the 50 best restaurants in the world in 2018. Here are top 10 restaurants not to be missed.


The 50 best restaurants in the world have been updated by the British magazine Restaurant, based on votes from chefs and food commentators around the world. This is considered the Oscars of culinary. Listed in 2002, it becomes a prestigious consultant for the fastidious customers in the world. Of those, the top 10 best restaurants are familiar names in the food village.


1. Osteria Francescana (Modena, Italy):

This year, the best hands of the world's best celebrities gathered in the port city of Bilbao, Spain to decide on 50 restaurants on the list. Topping the list are Italian restaurant Osteria Francescana and chef Massimo Bottura. He is famous for its classic Italian cuisine, which has been upgraded and improved. This restaurant also held the top spot in 2016.


2. El Celler de Can Roca (Girona, Spain):

Ranked at No. 2 is Spanish restaurant El Celler de Can Roca. This restaurant was at the top spot in 2015. This is a family business, chef Joan Roca works with her brothers, bakery manager - Jordi and wine manager - Josep.


3. Mirazur (Menton, France):

Ranked third, the Mediterranean restaurant Mirazur is run by Argentinean Italian chef Mauro Colagreco. It was ranked fourth in the list of the 50 best restaurants in 2017, up one level this year. The restaurant is famous for its creativity in the recipe but is very subtle with the use of fresh local ingredients.


4. Eleven Madison Park (New York, USA):

Eleven Madison Park restaurant overlooks the city's most beautiful parks. The restaurant is run by Swedish chef Daniel Humm with focus dishes highlighting the ingredients. The simplicity and purity of the season's food flavor are two of the key factors that led Eleven Madison Park to fourth place.


5. Gaggan (Bangkok, Thailand):

Chef Gaggan Anand opened his own restaurant in the Thai capital in 2010. His mission and vision are to revive Indian cuisine using modern techniques, in addition to small changes to the traditional Indian cuisine. This orientation helped his restaurant to be No. 5 after only 8 years of the inauguration.


6. Central (Lima, Peru):

The Central restaurant in Lima is managed by chef Virgilio Martinez Veliz. The restaurant has become South America's finest culinary destination. The theme of the restaurant is inspired by the biodiversity, culture, history of Peru. This is reflected in the style of the restaurant and especially the food that the restaurant gives customers.


7. Maido (Lima, Peru):

Peruvian capital Lima continues to be proud of its cuisine when Maido is named the seventh in the list of the 50 best restaurants in the world. Here, chef Mitsuharu blends the style of Peruvian cuisine with Japanese cuisine to create his own development vision.


8. Arpège (Paris, France):

Vegetable specialist Alain Passard opened the Arpège restaurant in 1968 and received three Michelin stars over the past three decades. The dishes at the restaurant are inspired by the taste and freshness of vegetables. This year, this restaurant is honored to rank eighth among the 50 names in the top restaurants in the world.


9. Mugaritz (San Sebastian, Spain):

Led by chef Andoni Luis Aduriz, the Mugaritz restaurant in the town of San Sebastian offers diners with the Spain style.


10. Asador Etxebarri (Biscay, Spain):

In the top 10 of the world's best restaurants, Asador Etxebarri serves innovative dishes cooked on a log. The food here is colorful and has the flavor of the Biscay Bay.
