9 foods that people with constipation should avoid

Nutrition experts recommend limiting these foods when you are suffering from constipation.

Red meat

There are many reasons to limit red meat, including the fact that it causes you to have constipation. Caused by high-fat red meat, the digestive system will take time to process. At the same time, red meat also contains iron and proteins that are hard to digest, causing and exacerbating constipation.

Unripe banana

There is a difference between bananas and constipation. While unripe bananas can cause constipation, ripe bananas help reduce the symptoms of the disease. Unripe bananas contain a lot of starch, which makes the body difficult to digest. It also contains pectin, which helps in absorbing water from the intestinal wall towards the intestinal tract. Consequently, patients who are dehydrated eating bananas may worsen the condition.

According to the National Library of Medicine in the United States, about 65% of people have difficulty digesting lactose after birth or feel "bulky" in the abdomen after drinking milk.

Fried foods

High-fat diets tend to cause intestinal obstruction. Many foods are high in fat but do not actually have high fiber content. While fruits and vegetables are digested faster, the stomach needs more time to digest high fat in fiber. If you are having trouble digesting food, avoid foods that have been fried with oil or butter.

White flour

White flour can be used to make a variety of dishes, but it is not considered a really healthy food. If you consume white flour for a long time without adding fruits or vegetables, the risk of constipation is higher.

While the herbs do not have a negative effect, some black tea packaged contains tannin. In addition, tea also contains caffeine, and consuming a little can also affect the digestive system. Over-consumption can increase constipation due to dehydration.

According to Medicine Net, people with constipation should not eat chocolate, especially those with IBS. Doctor Kristi King, a spokeswoman for the American College of Nutrition, a nutritionist at Texas Children's Hospital, said the high-fat content of chocolate slows digestion, decreases intestinal motility, so food also moves through the intestines more slowly.

Like bananas, caffeine can work in two directions. Caffeine is a stimulant that can make things easier. However, if you are dehydrated, you may find that caffeine in coffee, black tea, and chocolate make you more constipated.

Alcohol and some stimulants

This is a group of substances which is not only bad for health in general but for people with constipation, they are very harmful. They make the condition worse and the bowel less work.
