New York Fashion Week 2019 welcomes the return of Proenza Schouler

Missing on the stage of New York Fashion Week since earlier last year, it’s such a surprise that Proenza Schouler announces his return in September.

In January last year, fashion designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler let a lot of fans down by announcing their move to Paris Fashion Week. Proenza Schouler was one of the 3 fashion brands that had withdrawn from New York Fashion Week to move to France, along with two other big names, Thom Browne and Rodarte.

And now, as the New York Fashion Week 2019 is getting closer, Proenza Schouler has driven its fans crazy by announcing on Instagram that the fashion house will return to New York and show off their Spring-Summer 2019 collection.

According to Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, the last two seasons of fashion in Paris were an exciting journey. By the way, they also send their deep thanks to the Chambre Syndicale – French trade association of high fashion. For them, New York is always home and they are prepared to return with a brand new collection.

The fashion house also shares that at this point, factors like when, where and how could be the reason for a show to fail or to go further. Everything becomes easy and comfortable when they are back in New York – their "home" again.

For the label, the experience in Paris was amazing, and a good opportunity to introduce itself to the fashion world there. This was the first time this New York brand had a chance to showcase its collection in the City of Light. That is considered a good decision from the company. The Proenza Schouler founders also express their gratefulness to those who have helped and gave them the opportunity to experience a memorable time in Paris.

"It's been a fun ride showing the past two seasons in Paris during Couture (thank you Chambre Syndicale) but NY will always be home so we are coming back for Spring Summer 2019. In today’s world, when, where, and how one shows can be looser and more fluid than ever and so for now, NY is our home once again. Paris was an amazing opportunity to show what we do to a completely different audience that had never been able to attend a Proenza Schouler show and on that level, as well as on a creative level, it felt really right. We want to thank everyone that was responsible for making Paris an unforgettable experience. Looking forward to heading back home now and being a part of NYFW in September, where it all began."
