Stan Lee had finished his cameo role in 'Avengers 4' before death

The superhero blockbuster released in the summer of 2019 may be the last time that fans have the opportunity to see Stan Lee on the large screen.

Till the end of his life, Stan Lee did not stopped dedicating his talent to the audiences. Shortly before passing away, he still played some entertaining cameo roles in movies inspired by Marvel comic series. So far, the respectable artist has become an indispensable personality of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The king of Marvel Comics was reported to have passed away on November 12 at the age of 95. At least, the fans may be relieved to know that Stan Lee has finished shooting his scene in Avengers 4

In fact, Lee's scene in the upcoming blockbuster was filmed at the same time he filmed his roles in Ant-Man and The Wasp. Joe Russo, co-director of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 shared with BBC: "He's the godfather of a lot of these stories, him and Jack Kirby."

"So, Stan, typically we try to get him out, he doesn't love to fly, so we try to get him out for his cameos around the same time. So if we have other movies shooting on the same lot that we're on, for instance Ant-Man and the Wasp or Avengers 4, we group his cameos together and then move him from one set to the next and get him through his cameos in one day," he said.

Next year, Marvel Studios is going to bring about a series of superhero blockbusters, they are Captain Marvel released in March, Avengers 4 in May, and Spider-Man: Far from Home in July, 2019.

Up to now, neither Marvel Studios nor other individuals related to the two projects Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far from Home has confirmed whether Stan Lee played any cameo roles in those movies or not.

However, if they had used the same strategy like the Russo brothers did, the audience will most likely be able to see Stan Lee in both Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far from Home. But from 2020, MCU will really miss Stan Lee for sure.

Outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, some other remarkable Fox's movies including X-Men: Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants were actually filmed quite long ago, but the audience will have to wait until 2019 to be able to enjoy those works. Therefore, it is possible that Stan Lee would have finished shooting his scenes in those 02 movies as long as Fox had promptly contacted him.
