Sebastian Stan wants Winter Soldier to become Captain America soon

Like many fans, the 35-year-old star wants to see the turning point in comics that Marvel Studios has quickly brought to the big screen.

In an event in the United States last weekend, Sebastian Stan once again mentioned the possibility of his character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) - Winter Soldier - becoming the next Captain America.

Winter Soldier or real name is Bucky Barnes, who is a close friend of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), and contributed to the MCU from “Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)”.

As if dead, Bucky was later turned into a super soldier with an iron arm by the evil organization H.Y.D.R.A, and became the major enemy of Captain America in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” (2014).

Sebastian Stan's character continues to be at the center of controversy between superheroes in "Captain America: Civil War" (2016), and a fuse that prompts Captain America and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) to argue fiercely.

Before the blockbuster in 2016, it was rumored that Steve Rogers would die on screen as in comics, and that it was the turning point for Bucky Barnes to inherit the legendary shield, becoming the next Captain America. But that didn’t happen.

At the end of "Civil War," audiences were told that Steve Rogers had brought Bucky Barnes to Wakanda Kingdom of King T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) for treatment, which helped him to fully control his brain. In the upcoming blockbuster - Black Panther, Bucky / Winter Soldier participates as a cameo and appears in a short segment at the end of the film.

Sharing the ability to become the next Captain America, Sebastian Stan said, "I really want that to happen, even though I do not really know when it is going to be. It's going to be a different version of Captain America, because Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes are quite opposite characters."

"I think the problem is that the crew needs to make the audience believe that the Winter Soldier can become the new Captain America, assuming the great responsibility that his close friend has left. It is not easy task. Maybe we need more time for that ", the actor added.

As the contract between Marvel Studios and Chris Evans ends after “Avengers 4” (2019) and there is no sign that the two sides want to extend cooperation. Many viewers are speculating that Captain America will be among the super heroes leaving the life at the hands of the evil Thanos (Josh Brolin) at Infinity War.

Meanwhile, the contract between Sebastian Stan and Marvel Studios is still very long. The ability of Winter Soldier to become the next Captain America on the big screen has been repeatedly discussed over the past four years. And that is likely to become a reality when the MCU enters “Avengers 4” (2019).
