MTV VMAs 2018 winners: Who are they?

Camila Cabello won overwhelmingly with the two most important awards: Artist of the Year and Video of the Year thanks to "Havana", featuring rapper Young Thug.

On August 20, MTV Video Music Awards has just taken place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Young singer Camila Cabello won two major awards: Artist of the Year and Video of the Year with "Havana", featuring rapper Young Thug. For the Artist of the Year award, Cabello surpassed huge names like Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Post Malone and Bruno Mars. 2018 is considered a successful year of the former Fifth Harmony member. Prior to that, "Havana" even broke Mariah Carey's "One Sweet Day" record since 1996 on the Billboard music charts.

In addition to being the host of the show, Cardi B was also the most attention-grabbing name of VMAs this year with 10 nominations. Lastly, the rapper won the Best New Artist, Song of Summer with "I Like It" (alongside Bad Bunny and J Bavin) and Best Collaboration with "Dinero" (alongside Jennifer Lopez and DJ Khaled).

It was such a surprise when Nicki Minaj won the Best Hip-hop video award for music production "Chun Li". Debuted in May, the song has been so controversial because of the sensitivity that relates to Asian culture.

Ariana Grande surpassed Demi Lovato, Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran, Pink and Shawn Mendes to win the Best Pop video for "No Tears Left To Cry".

Post Malone was surprised to be named in Song of the Year with "Rockstar" MV, featuring 21 Savage. Malone said that he did dream about being able to win a prize, but he did not know what to say when he was standing there. Finally, the rapper and 21 Savage sent thanks to all members of the crew, family, audience and organizers.

As announced earlier, singer Jennifer Lopez received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard this year. According to JLo, it was an amazing journey when her dreams came true. Besides, Jennifer Lopez also won Best Collaboration with "Dinero" MV alongside DJ Khaled and rapper Cardi B.
