Dani Alves strongly criticized for his insensitive comments

Former Barcelona player is considered "insensitive" after commenting on the death of Davide Astori.

He said: "We were not disturbed too much because we did not know him very much, I am sorry for his family. I think that Davide has done what he owed in this chaotic world and that now he is in a better world. But in the world every day thousands of children who do not receive much attention die of hunger and they are just as important. We all have to die sooner or later because we are passing through. Maybe we are sad, but certainly not like his family."

“Dani Alves’ comments on Astori are a disgrace. He’s right about children dying every day but have some sensitivity ffs. This is the same person who insulted the disabled using the word ‘retards’ among so much other stuff. Shameful person.” said Carlo Garganese.

Dani Alves did not care much about Astori's death.

“Dani Alves is one of the few football players I genuinely dislike as a human being and as a professional.” Kostchenko wrote.

“Agreed, there's lots of uncovered deaths around the world. So why hasn't Dani Alves spoken up till now? Why use the occasion of a fellow sportsman's death to try and score cheap points? said Fontaine.

In addition to his comments on Astori's death, Dani Alves also expressed his determination to beat Real Madrid to go into the Champions League quarter-final despite Neymar's absence. He said: "We think we can go through because of the first-leg."

"We were superior to them in our play and the chances we created. We have to do that for the full 90 minutes this time. It’s a huge motivation to be able to knock out the holders." he added

They trail 3-1 from the first match at the Bernabeu, and must try and overcome the reigning holders without talisman Neymar, who is back in Brazil recovery from surgery to his metatarsal.

The expected squad of PSG and Real Madrid in the upcoming match

On March 4, the world football was shocked due to the death of Davide Astori. The captain of Fiorentina died while sleeping in the hotel room of La di Moret, just several hours before his team played Udinese on the round 27 Serie A.

According to initial information, Astori died of a stroke. However, the police are still investigating and making an autopsy to determine the real cause of the 1987-born footballer.

Fiorentina say Astori's autopsy will take place on Tuesday and his body will be taken to Florence on Wednesday before his funeral on Thursday.

Astori, capped 14 times by Italy, joined Fiorentina in 2016 from Cagliari and had made 58 appearances for them.

He is survived by a long-term partner and two-year-old daughter.
