5 cool things you need to know about 'Stranger Things' season 3
1. The whole cast will still be there
It's unclear who will be returning to the new season, but all the main cast members have confirmed they will be joining the Stranger Things season 3, including Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Noah Schnapp (Will) and of course, Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven).
Meanwhile, Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Joe Keery (Steve) along with Winona Ryder (Joyce) and David Harbor (Hopper) will still take on old roles this season. At the same time, Dacre Montgomery (Billy) and Sadie Sink (Max) have also confirmed they will meet the viewers in the new part of the series.
2. Many new characters will show up
There have been rumors of new faces joining the Stranger Things season 3, but only Maya Hawke has confirmed that she will be joining the cast. The actress will play a teenage girl who is disgusted with life in Hawkins, so the character of Maya will be no different from Billy and Max of last season. The producer did not reveal much information about this character, but many fans believe that this could be a sister of Eleven. In addition, Priah Ferguson will take on the role of Lucas' sister and become one of the leading characters in season 3. With Priah's excellent performance in the previous season, this is not so surprising.
On the other side, the producer also reveals that there will be three new characters appearing in season 3, 2 of them are Cary Elwes as mayor of Hawkins and Jake Busey as a journalist. Meanwhile, Francesca Reale takes on the role of a rescue-character who is expected to be the centerpiece of the new mystery.
3. The old cast will receive a raise
All the main cast members will receive higher pay than the previous season. Adult actors will receive $ 350,000 per episode, while the four child actors will get paid $ 250,000 instead of $ 20,000 as the last season. There is no exact information about Millie's salary, but many believe she will earn the number above.
Meanwhile, the remaining three teenage actors will receive $ 150,000 per episode. With the popularity of Netflix's Stranger Things, it's no surprise that this online TV service could pay the cast a worthy reward.
4. Plot twits
There are countless rumors circulating around the plot of Stranger Things 3, but details have yet to be revealed. The only thing known is that there will be new characters appearing in Hawkins. Besides, a dark power will rise in this film.
The mystery from the previous season has not been adequately explained. In addition, how will the characters’ fate be when they are stuck between the powerful authorities and the strange creatures in the Upside Down world? All that will make the story revolving around Hawkins even more dramatic than ever.
5. The third season will be released in 2019
Because Netflix is not tied to a regular movie schedule, no one can say for sure when the third part of Stranger Things will be released. Season 2 of the series was released a year and a half after the first part. And although there’s no clue about the release date of season 3, all signs show that the new season will come out next year.
The good news is, although there is still a year before the release of the new season, there is a lot of information about how the season 3 production has started. In April, fans were thrilled when Netflix posted a video about the cast starting filming for Stranger Things season 3. There were also many familiar faces of the previous season next to the "newbies" like Cary Elwes, Jake Busey and Maya Hawke.
