4 movies unexpectedly gaining great success

The blockbusters such as "Iron Man”, "Mad Max: Fury Road”, "The LEGO Movie" and "Jumanji 2" were predicted to get a big loss, but eventually these predictions did not come true.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017):

The Jumanji film was first released in 1995, and carrying out the next installment when a board game was turned into a video game was a bad idea. However, the collaboration among the Quartet Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black has made Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle the biggest surprise at the box office in recent years.

Despite the competition with Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), the film eventually brought Sony up to $ 930 million.

Annabelle: Creation (2017):

After the success of The Conjuring (2013), the filmmakers conducted the interquel of Annabelle (2014) about the namesake doll. While gaining overwhelming success at the global box office, it is a poor quality work and considered a " miserable money-wringing effort”.

New Line was determined to continue Annabelle: Creation (2017) - the prequel to Annabelle. With the production budget of $ 15 million, director David F. Sandberg helped the movie to gross more than $ 300 million. More importantly, Annabelle: Creation is critically acclaimed for its scary but moving content.

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015):

The fourth installment of Mad Max by director George Miller is like a "cursed project" that was delayed year after year. It is scheduled to start shooting in 2003, but Mad Max: Fury Road can only start filming in 2012. Later on, it was known that the relationship between the two Charlize Theron stars - Tom Hardy on the set was not good and the project continued to take money because of the bad weather.

The total gross of $ 378 million was not so good when they had to invest $ 150 million for this movie project. But Mad Max: Fury Road is now the icon of blockbuster hits with a series of impressive and creative actions. The film received a total of 10 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, and finally won six golden statuettes after the 2016 Academy Awards ceremony.

Titanic (1997):

James Cameron's blockbuster project was not carried out in a smooth way. Because the movie was set in many countries, he had to spend $ 200 million, and Fox feared that the movie was likely to get a great loss. Then, Titanic became one of the greatest works in the cinematic history with the total gross of  $ 2.18 billion and 11 Oscar statuettes,  including one for Best Picture.

In addition, American Psycho (2000) , Iron Man (2008) , 21 Jump Street (2012) , The LEGO Movie (2014) and Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016) are also in this list.
