Foods that will flatten your belly

Keeping fit must start with an action to control what you eat daily.

Tummy bulge is completely natural, however, there are some foods that make this condition worse. Here is the list of foods you should limit if you want to permanently maintain a flat stomach:

1. Milk

Milk and dairy products such as cheese can cause digestive problems, especially if you have lactose intolerance. This is a natural sugar found in dairy products and many people can not digest lactose because there is no enzyme needed to break down this sugar.

However, there are many products that can be used as a substitute for milk, such as soy milk, and almond milk which are suitable for people who are not digesting lactose or who do not like drinking milk.

2. Cauliflower, brussels sprouts and kale

Cauliflower, brussels sprouts and kale are included in this list. These are foods which are rich in nutrients like folate, vitamin C and fiber. They even help to prevent cancer.

However, they also contain raffinose, a carbohydrate that the body can not ‘absorb’ due to lack of enzymes. In addition, raffinose is a substance that is ‘activated’ by bacteria. It is also the main cause of flatulence. If you do not want to ‘remove’ this food from your menu, try baking or boiling for easier digestion.

3. Salty foods

According to scientists, the amount of salt added to the body every day should stop at 2.3 grams. People with obesity, high blood pressure, or over 50 years of age should stop at about 1.5 grams a day. Canned and processed foods often contain very large amounts of salt.

4. Alcohol

Like salty foods, alcohol causes the body to accumulate water. Drinking alcohol can also cause constipation which also makes the stomach become bigger.

5. Watermelon

It is hard to imagine what watermelon can harm human body, because 92% of watermelon is water. However, watermelon has a high concentration of fructose - a natural sugar that gives sweetness to the fruit. Some people can not absorb fructose and that is why watermelon can flatten your belly.

6. Artificial sweeteners

Many people prefer artificial sweetener because they do not have calories. But calories are not all, sweeteners like xylitol and sorbitol all need a lot of time to digest, so they can flatten your belly.

Apples contain three components that are easily flatten your belly are fiber, fructose and sorbitol. Fructose and sorbitol are natural sugars that many people can not absorb. Some other fruits also contain sorbitol such as peaches, pears, and plums.
