Food additives are substances that are added to the food to preserve or improve the taste and appearance of the food. These substances are deliberately mixed with food or beverages to keep them from spoiling without altering the quality and taste of the product.
Sometimes people also use additives to make the product have a certain color or good taste to attract more consumers. For example, due to using the additives, bread can be kept longer, and jambon remain pink and fresh.
Additives may be of natural origin, or synthesized or semi-synthesized (such as bicarbonate de sodium). Sometimes, they are also synthesized from microorganisms, such as enzymes used for yogurt production. Additives may also be vitamins added to foods to increase nutrition.
However, the food additives listed below should absolutely avoid and people should choose the right product if they want to have a long lasting health, according to Boldsky.

Caffeine is not only addictive but it can also cause birth problems, heart problems, depression and insomnia.

6. Brominated vegetable oil (BVO)
