Will Spice Girls reunite?

The most powerful girlband in the UK in the 2000s is coming back with full five members: Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm.

According to Rolling Stone, during a reunion in the UK on 2 February, the Spice Girls unveiled the possibility of reuniting with the same statement about “exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of the Spice Girls."

This suggestion was also made earlier, when Geri Halliwell posted photos of the five members on her Instagram account. A few hours later, the band confirmed through a statement that all 5 members would try to bring the group back to the audience.

"We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for the Spice Girls," the group said in a statement. "The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together."

"We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for the Spice Girls," the group said in a statement. "The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together."

"We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching up and reminiscing about the amazing times we have spent together," the Spice Girls' statement continued. "We all agree that there are many exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of the Spice Girls, while reinforcing our message of female empowerment for future generations."

So far, no official reunion plan has been announced. However, Sky News has released a number of small plans that the group is considering as a number of television programs in China, a television singing competition and a new album.

Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham, Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton, Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell, Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown and Melanie "Sporty Spice" Chisholm last performed together at the London Olympics' closing ceremony in 2012. Horner has been vocal about her desire for another reunion, though a mooted 2016 reformation was quashed when Beckham and Melanie Chisholm declined to participate.

In 2014, Halliwell, Bunton and Brown reunited with a small group of GEMs (from the first letter in each person's name). However, this plan was halted because Halliwell got pregnant. As recently as last year, Beckham denied plans of a full-scale Spice Girls reunion despite lucrative offers for the group to get back together.
