What box office records does “Black Panther” make? (Part II)
Top 5 movies of the highest grossing openings of all time
Officially released in theaters in North America, other countries and territories from February 15, the Black Panther blockbuster brought Marvel Studios and Disney over $ 387 million, $ 235 million of which came from 4,020 box offices in the North American market after only four days of release.
The box office success of Black Panther helped the movie jump to the fifth place on the list of the movies with the highest grossing openings of all time and occupy the position of Jurassic World with $ 234.1 million.
Movies are also earning money faster than Beauty and the Beast (2017). The blockbuster of Disney grossed $ 1.2 trillion worldwide in 2017, $ 174.7 million of which was earned after its first three days and ranked behind Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($ 220 million).
In addition, the director of the IMAX private theatre in the United States revealed that the number of Black Panther tickets sold in IMAX format outperformed all of Marvel's superhero movies ever. This also includes movies outside MCU and other blockbusters.

Black Panther set a record for advance ticket sales
Advance sales for Disney-Marvel’s Black Panther have set a new record for Fandango as the top seller among Marvel Cinematic Universe movies in the first 24 hours, occupying the place of Batman's v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) with $ 166 million at the box office in March and topping “Captain America: Civil War.”
“Black Panther is riding an incredible wave of momentum right now,” said Fandango editor Erik Davis. “It’s one of the biggest and most anticipated movies to ever open in the month of February, and its trailers have electrified the internet. Tickets have been going fast ever since pre-sales started on Fandango late Monday.”
Fandango said a survey of more than 8,000 moviegoers showed that Black Panther was voted as one of the year’s top two most anticipated movies, ranking second to Disney-Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” which includes many of the “Black Panther” characters, and Boseman was voted as the most anticipated comic book hero in a standalone movie.
