Fifth Harmony claims to stop working indefinitely
Four members of Fifth Harmony - Lauren Jauregui, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Ally Brooke - have confirmed on Twitter that they are going to stop all musical activities together.
"After 6 years of endless effort, we realize that in order to live honestly with ourselves and you, we need to take a break from Fifth Harmony to pursue solo projects. We are all very excited and grateful to use this time to learn and grow in creativity, and to find the place of every individual. In this process, we will have the experience, strength and new point of views to bring the Fifth Harmony family," said the group.
Although the group recently canceled their previously scheduled tour in Australia, the 4 girls still insisted on continuing to perform together until the end of the year. With so many fans, this may be just one thing sooner or later due to long speculation. Information about the break-up dates from late 2016, when Camila Cabello announced her departure and the other four members were already involved in music productions with other artists. Lauren Jauregui, who is said to have switched to another record company to pursue a solo career, has featured in productions of Halsey, Steve Aoki and Ty Dolla Sign. Normani Kordei has recently collaborated with Kahlid on the soundtrack to "Love, Simon." Ally Brooke has also signed a new solo contract.
This was an unhappy message to the Harmonizer community (the fan name of Fifth Harmony), but the fans were quick to show their support for the four girls on Twitter with the hashtag #ThankYouFifthHarmony as the top trend right after the announcement.
“#ThankYouFifthHarmony for bringing girl groups into this decade, for your music and your friendship, for the memories, for sticking with harmonizer for another year despite the challenges, for working your butts off for 6 years + for creating this dysfunctional harmonizer family” said a fan named Georgia.
Another fan – Cristina expressed: “I’m crying right now. I just can’t. I don’t know what to say but thank you FifthHarmony. Thank you for all the memories, this is definitely not the end but the start of a new beginning. WE LOVE YOU”.
Sam Smith is one of the biggest fans of Fifth Harmony. The singer expressed shock on Twitter when the group stopped working indefinitely: "FIFTH HARMONY !!!!! DO NOT !!! ", accompanied by 50 exclamation marks. Sam met four members of the group at Carpool Karaoke. He claimed it was like a "dream" and said he had long loved Fifth Harmony.
