'Edge of Tomorrow 2' is changed entire script and delayed to launch
According to actress Emily Blunt, who starred with Tom Cruise in “Edge of Tomorrow 2”, the second part of the science fiction film has made significant steps back in the production. In a recent interview, when asked about the status of “Edge of Tomorrow 2”, Emily Blunt revealed that the crew was still working to accelerate the production of the film. However, they went in the wrong direction and had to go back to editing from scripting.
“Edge of Tomorrow” is one of the best science fiction films of the past.
Director Doug Liman and the creative team almost had to return to their original positions. Accordingly, director Doug Liman came up with a better and more exciting idea along with writer Christopher McQuarrie to complete the new script even before that, the story for the second part had been finished. This information has made the fan community extremely frustrated as they have been waiting for more than four years for the second. But until now, everything is almost back to zero.
In addition, one of the biggest obstacles in the production of “Edge of Tomorrow 2” comes from the busy schedule of actor Tom Cruise. This means that the film's launch date will be significantly delayed, at least two years later.
As originally planned, the sequel of “Edge of Tomorrow” is titled “Live Die Repeat and Repeat”. The two main characters Bill Cage (Tom Cruise) and Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) will continue to contribute.
Currently, according to Emily Blunt, the problem lies with the people involved in the movie because they are very busy with future projects, so it is very difficult to arrange the schedule to suit each person's busy schedules. Tom Cruise is scheduled to make "Top Gun 2" and "Mena" after “Mission Impossible 6”. Director Doug Liman is in the process of completing "Chaos Walking" and "Emily Blunt", he is also preparing to promote the horror film "A Quiet Place" and complete his role in "Mary Poppins Returns”.
However, as Liman once said, "Edge of Tomorrow" was a special movie of this quartet. Therefore, he confirmed that the crew would still be dedicated to the full performance of this film. "Edge of Tomorrow", which debuted in 2014, grossed $ 370.5 million at the box office worldwide, but still rated as good by Warner Bros.. The film captures the hearts of many fans and they collaborate to push producer to release the second part.
