Annihilation (Released on February 22, with the production budget of $ 55 million, and the estimated revenue of $ 25 million, the movie is expected to make $ 50 million loss including advertising expenses)

The science fiction movie adapted from the novel of the same name revolves around the biologist played by Natalie Portman on her journey to find answers to her husband's disappearance who has to fight the fierce animals in the X area. Especially the movie will be released on Netflix only 17 days after its release in theaters. This could result in big box office losses, but the film would receive additional revenue from Netfilx.

Ready Player One (Released on March 30, with the production budget of $ 150 million, and the estimated revenue of $ 250 million, the movie is expected to make $ 40 million loss including advertising expenses)

Steven Spielberg's latest blockbuster project is adapted from Ernest Cline's 2011 novel of the same name. Despite its attractive context and content, Ready Player One does not feature any A-list stars. This is a big disadvantage in the global box office, especially when the audience has somewhat got bored of a series of science fiction films.

Tomb Raider (Released on March 16, with the production budget of $ 80 million, and the estimated revenue of $ 130 million, the movie is expected to make $ 40 million loss including advertising expenses)

After the original Tomb Raider game’s reboot, the game adaptation of the same name which revolves around Lara Croft's first adventure will also bring a new look on the big screen. In addition, the disadvantage of the rebooted films and the poor promotion may make Tomb Raider difficult to achieve high gross, not to mention that the film will be released at the same time as Pacific Rim: Uprising.

hollywood-bombs-9

Aquaman (Released on December 21, with the production budget of $ 160 million, and the estimated revenue of $ 300 million)

While MCU has three movie projects in the following year, the DC Cinema Universe (DCEU) is going to release a unique work: Aquaman. James Wan's blockbuster focuses on portraying super hero Aquaman (Jason Momoa) - the head of the kingdom of Atlantis at the bottom of the ocean. Aquaman's ability to revive DCEU and gain the box office success after the failure of the Justice League last year is expectedly  very low.

Robin Hood (Released on September 21, with the production budget of $ 90 million, and the estimated revenue of $ 170 million)

Summit chose a younger face than Russell Crowe for the main character, Taron Egerton. Although based on the famous film franchise, Robin Hood has been ignored by the media.
