After 'Avengers', Thanos will continue to be the villain in “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'
In the previous seasons of the series, Phil Coulson and his team tried to find a way to stop this disaster. However, they do not know how the Earth will be destroyed. It is not easy for this organization considered evil when so many different factions are trying to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D as well as the inevitable death of Phil.
The ending of "Avengers: Infinity War" and the latest episode of "Agents of SHIELD Season 5" reveal many details that lead us to the conclusion that S.H.I.E.L.D would change the nature and purpose of their activities, if they survived after Earth was attacked by Thanos. And details related to "Avengesr: Infinity War" in the latest episode of the TV series may have been predictions that S.H.I.E.L.D would cooperate with the righteous side to fight against Thanos. According to "The One Who Will Save Us All”, Thanos is the indirect cause of the sequence of events in Season 5.
In the previous episode "Rise and Shine", we know that the Hydra has agreed with the Confederacy to protect themselves against the raid alien, in exchange for Inhumans and Gravitonium.
Thanks to Qovas, Coulson learns that Thanos was the one who will land on the Earth, but it is not confirmed until this week's episode. Talbot - Destroyer of Worlds (the main antagonist in Marvel Comics Graviton) in the previous episode also looks for the Confederacy and inquired whether Thanos will come to the Earth from Taryan.
Taryan advises Talbot to add Gravitonium to his power and that is how Talbot makes himself a Graviton and destroys Earth. Apparently Talbot's quest to find more Gravitonium to fight against Thanos would have made him a villain and wanted to destroy his own planet.
Of course, we all know Graviton has not had a fight with Thanos in the MCU since Mad Titan just landed on Earth once in the battle in Wakanda. But when reviewing the details from this week's episode, we can conclude that Thanos was actually the cause of the destruction of Earth by Graviton, as Talbot acquired Gravitonium against Mad Titan who caused him to degenerate.
Additionally, whether Graviton is destroying the Earth in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" or not, the most ferocious villains of the series will still be Thanos. Events in “Avengers: Infinity War” S.H.I.E.L.D. has also proven that Marvel is doing a great job of connecting the events that take place in both their dramas and cinemas. This also makes fans more attention to the two episodes of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 5" and can help the following dramas of the studios earn more viewers.
