7 faint talented stars in Marvel superhero films
1. Natalie Portman (Jane Foster - Thor, Thor: The Dark World)
Bringing brilliant talent like Natalie in the role of Jane Foster was what makes the audience nervous. This role was rated as one of the most faded and unfortunate performances of 2013.
There was no place to show the psychological acting ability, which is her strength in a work filled with tricks. Oscar-winning actress was like "mobile vase" and completely overshadowed by her male co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston.
2. Mads Mikkelsen (Kaecilius - Doctor Strange)
He missed Malekith in “Thor: The Dark World”, but was chosen to play evil Kaecilius in “Doctor Strange”.
Director Scott Derrickson chose a simple evil to complicate the protagonist and the mystery of the film, and indeed Kaecilius was just a vagabond with an empty mind. This character has absolutely no mark in the MCU and also a forgettable role in the brilliant career of the Danish actor.
3. Christopher Eccleston (Malekith - Thor: The Dark World)
If there is a long line of meaningless evils in the MCU, Christopher Eccleston's Malekith role in “Thor: The Dark World” will be one of the worst. Audiences were disappointed to know that actor Christopher Eccleston (who was very successful in films such as “The Others” and “28 Days Later”) was given the role.
4. Benicio del Toro (The Collector - Thor 2, Guardian of the Galaxy)
After appearing in the credits of “Thor: The Dark World”, unpredictable character Collector returned with more land in “Guardians of the Galaxy”. However, as a collector of bizarre artifacts of Oscar-winning actor Benicio del Toro was still floating into oblivion and almost no longer mentioned in the MCU later.
5. Ben Kingsley (Mandarin - Iron Man 3)
It is thought to be the strongest enemy to Iron Man but Ben Kingsley's evil Mandarin character was just a puppet to be hired to perform a cover-up. This trick of the Marvel surprised the audiences and of course it was also disappointing to the audience s because Ben Kingsley, who won an Oscar for Best Actor, was used in the film only for the purpose of causing laugh.
6. Rebecca Hall (Maya Hansen - Iron Man 3)
“Iron Man 3” is still a successful blockbuster on sales. However, director Shane Black admitted that if the main antagonist was female, then the sales of movie toys would not be high. Therefore, Maya Hansen should have been built as the main villain in Iron Man, confronted by Tony Stark but eventually pushed down as a supporting character. Muscular man Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) was set to become the boss behind all.
7. Anthony Hopkins (Odin - Thor 1,2,3)
Hollywood actor as Odin was also featured in Thor's trilogy. However, the unfamiliar land and the less creative way of telling stories, somehow buried his talents. It was Anthony Hopkins who admitted that he wanted to forget his role in “Thor: The Dark World” because there was nothing worth mentioning. Fortunately, the Oscar-winning actor finally wrapped up his character with a meaningful death in “Thor: Ragnarok”.
